Can you love someone too much?
Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.
In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.
Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.
I received a lot of e-mails and tweets about not finishing Travis’s story and many recommendations to at least read the epilogue.
Although I will still say that these stories were just not for me. I will say that I did like the grown-up Travis that we see near the end of the story and especially in the epilogue. I also realize that most of my issue with these stories has to do with Abby. Although Travis has a bit of a rage issue which he starts to outgrow as we get near the end of the story, Abby is always the key to he mood swings.
I have to say it, “Abby is a bitch” and she plays those girl games of “I’m not talking to you and you have to guess why.” and “I tell you I don’t want you, but I really do.” I will still complain that she never really talks out her issues with Travis–with Travis. If she had talked to him instead of playing her games, she wouldn’t have spent chunks of this book tormenting Travis and breaking his heart over and over again.
Still not a big fan of the series, but I grew to like Travis a little more and thought better of his character by the end of the story.
Thanks to everyone who suggested that I give Travis a chance and finish.
