Happy Friday!! We do have several new blog followers joining us so welcome to you all and good luck in our Friday giveaways.
I’ve got nothing to talk about this week. 😦 I’ve been running around, but still trying to sneak in some reading time. I’m setting us up for some future promos and giveaways. I’ve also been invited onto the reviewer list for Sourcebooks and I’ll be including some future giveaways with them as well our friends from Penguin-Random House, Gallery-Pocket Books, Harlequin and Kensington. Sleeping is overrated, right!
I am also still working on going pro with my blog and hope that I don’t shut down the internet. Right now I am planning on using the long Thanksgiving weekend to get up and running. If EBookObsessed.com disappears suddenly (uh oh), you should still be able to locate us at wwww.EBookObsessed.wordpress.com. If I lose you, hang on. I will find you again. 🙂
For this week’s giveaway, I have two copies of Make You Remember (one finished and one ARC). I enjoyed Book #1 and the novella on this series and am trying hard to get caught up on this one as I missed the release date.
Just say “Hi” to be entered.
Giveaway open to U.S. residents. 18 years and older please. Giveaway ends Thursday, November 20th.
Ten years ago, Beau Dumont made the biggest mistake of his life by letting his high school sweetheart, Devyn Mauvais, slip through his fingers. Now the reformed bad boy will stop at nothing to get her back. Even if it means tricking her into taking a job on his family’s riverboat, The Belle of the Bayou.
When Devyn’s old flame offers her a stint at the boat’s day care center, she sees it as a chance to prove she isn’t just the descendant of Louisiana’s most infamous voodoo queen. Besides, it beats leading ghost tours around New Orleans. Yet when it comes to Beau, Devyn’s all business. She won’t give the sweet-talking playboy another chance to break her heart.
But there’s no escaping temptation in such close quarters, and Beau won’t be satisfied with a few hot nights with the girl he’s always loved. As he strives to make Devyn remember the good times, will his passion and heart be enough to regain her trust?
ORDER A COPY: In Pursuit of Miriam
Publisher: Arrow Publications
Publishing Date: August 2014
eBook: 222 pages
Rating: 3 stars
This was a first published novel for Helen Grant. It had a good outline but what this story lack was embellishment. I would have enjoyed reading more conversations and interactions between Miriam and Vincent instead the very short conversations or the general references to “we talked.” Even though Vincent wanted to marry Miriam as a business arrangement, it was hard to acknowledge that she had any appeal to him when they had so little interaction. Dragged by her aunt for a season in Bath, the Honourable Miss Miriam Knightly promises to make herself agreeable to any unmarried man she meets. All in the hope that one of them will overlook her lameness and offer marriage.
Vincent, the Earl of Chantry, needs a wife in order to inherit the funds he needs to prolong his merry London lifestyle. What better candidate for a marriage of convenience than an unfortunate lady with little prospects of gaining a husband? Miss Knightly. He happily foresees planting her at his country estate while he returns to London.
However, Miriam, a lady of independent character and means, secretly refuses to fall at the feet of the gentlemen who do propose—including the handsome Earl of Chantry. His proposal couched in cold business terms, distresses her. For already, his very touch makes her pulse race. Can she accept his proposal and live in hope that one day he will come to care for her?
Our winner is…Tiana. Congratulations.
I am having my own little celebration today. A few years ago I had to have surgery for a detached retina and I thought it was happening again in my other eye. I have been prepping my life for a repeat of last time where many things were off limits for several weeks including using a computer and reading!! But after several follow up appointments my eye surgeon has declared that if it hasn’t happened yet, chances are low that it will happen anytime soon (but no guaranties). That’s good enough for me!! Woo hoo!!
To celebrate my good fortune, I found a two-for on my bookshelf — the first two books in the Cavanaugh Brothers series.
Just stop by and say Hi to enter.
Giveaway ends Thursday, November 13th. Open to U.S. residents 18 years and older please. NOTE: These are Advance Review Copies!
In the small town of River Black, Texas, sits the Triple C—a working cattle ranch that sustains the town. But it also holds painful memories and shocking secrets for the Cavanaugh brothers…
When the Cavanaugh brothers return home for their father’s funeral, they discover unexpected evidence of the old man’s surprising double life—a son named Blue, who wants the Triple C Ranch as much as they do. The eldest son, Deacon, a wealthy businessman who couldn’t wait to leave the ranch and move on with his life, is looking to use his powerful connections to stop Blue at any cost. He never expected the ranch’s forewoman, Mackenzie Byrd, to get in his way.
Mac knows Deacon means to destroy the ranch and therefore destroy her livelihood. But as the two battle for control, their attraction builds. Now Deacon is faced with the choice of a lifetime: Take down the Triple C to feed his need for revenge, or embrace the love of the one person who has broken down every barrier to his heart.
The Cavanaugh brothers left behind River Black, Texas, long ago. But after their father dies, bequeathing them the Triple C, a cattle ranch that sustains their small town, they return—and confront the painful memories of their childhood home and the truth about their sister’s murder…
For years, James Cavanaugh has traveled the world as a horse whisperer, but even the millions he’s earned hasn’t healed the pain he hides behind his stoic exterior. Forced to tackle old demons at the ranch, James throws himself into work to avoid his true feelings. Until he meets a woman who shakes the foundations of his well-built walls…
Sheridan O’Neil’s quiet confidence has served her well, except when it comes to romance. Tired of rejection, she’s ready to swear off men. But after being rescued from a horse stampede by the most beautiful cowboy she’s ever met, her resolve wavers. Only, as Sheridan uncovers James’s belief that no woman is safe with him, she wonders if such a wounded man could ever give in to love, or if some hearts are too broken to be healed…

Paperback: 366 pages

Another fabulous story by Nalini Singh. The story of Ashwini and Janvier is a perfect addition to the archangel series and blends well with the recovery of the city and the evil that is still lurking in the shadows. I had a review copy of this story, but had an opportunity to receive an audiobook copy as well. Since I had listened to this entire series, I opted to wait until my audiobook was delivered. I was halfway through the story when the work week ended and I knew I couldn’t wait until Monday to see what happened next. I picked up where I left off and read the rest Friday night. I just couldn’t put it down.
The story starts out showing us that Guild Hunter Ashwini, and Raphael’s vampires, Janvier and Naasir are working together as a team in the shadows behind enemy lines causing as much confusion and damage to Lijuan’s forces to disrupt their fighting Raphael and his angel fighter. CONTINUE READING
ORDER A COPY: Caged in Winter
Publisher: Berkley Books
Publishing Date: November 4, 2014
eBook: 304 pages
Rating: 4 stars
I was moved by the battle of these two people finding someone special just when they are trying to finish their last few weeks of college. Both trying to juggle the workload and stresses of finals, working and trying to study and do homework and into this barely balanced life, they throw in a difficult relationship which forces them both to struggle to make the extra time and not lose everything else.
Caged in Winter is not exactly a simply story about two people who fall in love just as they hit the finish line towards their degrees and that is what made it more intriguing to me than just a normal romance. CONTINUE READING

There’s a budding romance on Butler Mountain, but in the hornets’ nest known as the Abbott family, keeping a secret is no easy feat…
Colton Abbott and Lucy Mulvaney have a secret. Colton’s nosy siblings have begun to put the pieces together, but it’s not like Lucy to keep things from those closest to her—especially her best friend, Cameron, who recently moved to Vermont to live with her true love, Will. But Lucy isn’t about to tell Cam she’s having a fling…with Will’s brother. Flitting between New York and Vermont is exhausting, so Lucy is looking forward to a long weekend with Colton at the Abbott family lake house in Burlington. Too bad Will and Cameron have the same idea, and once Colton and Lucy are caught red-handed (and red-faced), will their clandestine romance lose its appeal or will their secret beginnings be the start of something lasting?
